Concrete is filled in the slump cone in a layer of 80 mm thickness. Each layer is compacted with 25 strokes using a rod 600 mm long and 16mm in diameter. WebbSlump test procedure: STEP 1: Obtain fresh concrete from the truck. STEP 2: Fill one-third of the slump cone and tamp 25 times with a rod. (This is commonly called rodding.) STEP 3: Fill another one-third of the slump cone and tamp 25 times. Fill the last one-third and tamp 25 times. STEP 4: Lift the cone. STEP 5: Measure the slump.
